The Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr Pius Bigirimana, said the aerobics sessions will now beheld in place of the health run until further notice. This he said will be the position until the Judiciary gets advice from security agencies following an attack on the convoy of the Principal Judge on Sunday April 24, 2022.
Dr Bigirimana communicated thisduring the launch of aerobics sessions at the Judiciary headquarters on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
On the Issue of a fire outbreak in the chambers of the Chief Justice at the Supreme Court in Kololo, the PS/SJ said preliminary reports indicate that fire was a result of a defective air conditioner which fell down. He said while there was damage, the chambers had not been badly affected.
"Hope there was no foul play but if there was we shall be advised by security agencies," he said.
This aerobics session participants went on to observe a moment of silence for the Deputy Head of Public Service,Dr. Hilda Musubira who passed on Wednesday April 27, 2022 at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
The PS/SJ commended all Staff of the Judiciary for gracing the run and congratulated those that had been promoted to higher ranks. He also encouraged them to always show up for Aerobics on both days.
Position of Research Officers to be Abolished
The Chief Registrar, HW Sarah Langa Siu, on the other hand congratulated all Judicial Officers who had been promoted and also made clarification about legal researchers in the Judiciary. "Following the approved enhanced Judicial structure, the position of Research Officers was converted to Magistrate Grade One. This was done to provide a career path for them. So come 30th June 2022, the position of Research Officers will be abolished," she said.
She advised those available to keep applying whenever the Judicial Service Commission advertises the position of Magistrates Grade One. HW Langa further informed members that there will be an official communication to that effect, but they had met with the Executive Committee of Research Officers and communicated accordingly.

HW Flavia Nassuna (Registrar,Inspectorate), HW Lillian Bucyana (Deputy Registrar Court of Appeal), HW Dorothy Lwanga (Ag. Deputy Registrar Inspectorate), HW Patricia Amoko (Private Legal Secretary Chief Registrar) and HW Caroline Kabugho (Ag. Chief Magistrate)were also in attendance.
